The use of a modem (11) using a data line (1) extending along a trajectory of a track-guided or rail-guided movable object (2). The modem is determined for communication between stationary subscribers via power supply lines of a building. The modem works with a data rate of 50 Megabit per seconds according to an orthogonal frequency multiplex method. The data line extends parallel to and separately from an energy transmission line. A communication inductor (15) i.e. coil, is arranged at the object, magnetically coupled with the data line and connected with a communication device (10).
