The method involves pre-assembling a fiber composite shell element (3) with a fiber composite hollow component (2) in a manufacturing station to form a structural unit. The fiber composite shell element and the fiber composite hollow component are solidified to a fiber composite component i.e. side frame (1), by transfer molding process. A fiber layer is formed around a core of the fiber composite hollow component. Fibers of the fiber Layer extend into predetermined directions, and the core is formed as an out-washable core and a blowing core.
