The system (10) has exhaust lines (12, 14) arranged in flow direction of exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine i.e. V-type petrol engine, for discharging the exhaust gas. A coupling element (16) fluidically couples the exhaust lines together, where the exhaust lines are overlapped with each other. Particulate filters (18, 20) i.e. petrol engine particulate filters, are arranged in the respective exhaust lines, where one of the particulate filters is arranged at less distance to the coupling element compared to the other filter.
