The undercut anchor comprises an anchor rod (2) which is threaded at the front end of the base of borehole, a compression nut (4) such as a hexagonal nut or a square nut, fixedly connected to the anchor rod, and a cylindrical expansion sleeve (3) having two transverse slots. A setting nut is rotated clockwise to compress the expansion region of sleeve, through the transverse slots, when the undercut anchor is inserted into the wellbore at right angle to the anchor rod.
