<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron powder which has organic halogen compound treating performance equivalent to or higher than that of the organic halogen compound treating materials produced by the conventional technique, though the iron powder does not contain environmental load materials such as copper. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing the iron powder for treating organic halogen compounds includes the steps of: immersing the iron powder in one or more solvents selected from water and organic solvents which have lower vapor pressure than water and contain oxygen; subjecting the iron powder immersed in the solvent to solid-liquid separation to obtain the iron powder made wet by the solvent; and drying the iron powder made wet by the solvent while keeping the temperature at less than 40°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
