<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of improving accuracy in reading an original by evading an impact which is subjected by a contact image sensor to move between a platen glass and a contact glass by abutment on the reception frame of a guide body, and also reducing the cost of the image reader by simplifying a structure for evading the impact. <P>SOLUTION: A contact glass 19 is supported by a reception frame 25 of a guide body 21 in a state where the lower surface of the contact glass 19 and a lower surface 54 of a platen glass 10 have coplanarity. A height from the bottom surface of an original placement base 12 to the lower surface 54 of the platen glass 10 is defined as H1, and a height to the lower surface 55 of the guide body 21 is defined as H2. The guide body 21 is constituted to satisfy a formula (H2>=H1). A joint seat 51 positioned upper than the lower surface 54 of the platen glass 10 is arranged on the lower surface of the contact glass 19, thereby to receive the joint seat 51 by a reception seat 53 of the reception frame 25 from the side of the lower surface. Thus, the lower surface 55 of the guide body 21 is prevented from projecting to the mobile area of a contact image sensor 36. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
