PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a capacitor having a high breakdown voltage and high durability without impairing excellent high frequency characteristics of a conductive polymer capacitor.

SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an electrolyte for an electrolytic capacitor including an ionic liquid, a polymer compatible with the ionic liquid, and a conductive polymer, and to a method for producing the electrolyte for an electrolytic capacitor.
