The tool-clamping device (18) comprises a base (22) on which a tool spindle (23) is mounted for rotationally driving a tool. The tool is tensioned by a clamping unit coupled with a drive unit (24) for rotating the clamping unit about a rotational axis of the tool spindle. Several additional clamping units (44-47) are provided on the base and around the rotational axis of the tool spindle, for additional clamping of the tool. An independent claim is included for machine tool.
