PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate that can reduce unevenness of brightness on an incident part side in a light guide plate for a surface light source device of an edge light type.

SOLUTION: The light guide plate in which light scattering dots are formed at least on one surface 12c of a light guide plate base material 12 includes a plurality of light scattering dots 24 formed on each of regions A1-A10 which are formed by dividing at least the one surface 12c of the light guide plate base material 12 into a plurality of regions. In each of the regions A1-A5 of which the contrast ratio due to the plurality of the light scattering dots 24 is 50% or less, the plurality of the light scattering dots 24 include light scattering dots 24a, 24b having two or more kinds of different sizes, and, moreover, these two or more kinds of the light scattering dots 24a, 24b are arranged in an irregular order.
