<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical staple-fastening device for attaining improved balance between an anastomotic strength and degree of hemostasis on a tissue interface. <P>SOLUTION: A replaceable loading unit for the surgical staple-fastening device is provided as following (a), wherein the replaceable loading unit has a cartridge including: (i) at least two tissue-contact surfaces 114 and 121 with the cartridge, and one 121 of which has a height different from that of the other 114; (ii) at least two tissue-contact surfaces 114 and 121 with the cartridge which defines a retention slot for holding a staple 125; and (iii) the staple 125 in the retention slot having a variable leg length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
