<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle obstacle information notification device by which a driver can easily recognize the presence of obstacles in the approach direction at an intersection. <P>SOLUTION: When an obstacle exists ahead on the route ("Yes" in S6) and the obstacle is not only a pedestrian (an oncoming vehicle exists) ("No" in S8), an intersection map is shown in a "target-up" display style in which the frontward direction that the own vehicle approaches the intersection corresponds to the upper direction on the screen since the display style makes it easier to recognize the presence of the oncoming vehicle approaching the intersection in the direction opposite to that of the own vehicle. A display style of the intersection map is sequentially determined, and when the oncoming vehicle does not exist in the approach direction that the own vehicle approaches after turning right at the intersection, the intersection map is shown in a "heading-up" display style, since it is determined that the obstacle is only a pedestrian ("Yes" in S8), which makes it easier to notice the presence of pedestrians. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
