<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for joining a different material-joint structure, which can apply coating up to a marginal part of a joined boundary face. <P>SOLUTION: The method for joining a different material-joint structure by superposing a steel member 12 and a light metal material 14 on each other to join them together by friction stir in a non-fusion state, includes: a coating application step S1 of applying coating to the steel member 12; and a joining step S4 of pushing a rotary tool 54 on a joining part of a light metal material 14 to be joined to a steel member 12 while rotating the rotary tool to soften the joining part of the light metal material 14 and causing a plastic flow in the joining part by the frictional heat generated by the operation, thereby joining the steel member 12 to the light metal material 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
