The purpose of the present invention is to provide an analgesic effective in the prevention or treatment of a variety of pain disorders. This invention provides an analgesic containing a C10 fatty acid ester as an effective component thereof. This analgesic having said compound as the effective component thereof is highly useful as a therapeutic agent for a variety of pain disorders, for example as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for pain caused by gonarthrosis, osteoarthritis of the hip, or other osteoarthrosis, and for multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome or other demyelinating diseases.
