Disclosed are a wireless communication system and a method for sending an uplink synchronization channel thereof as well as a corresponding radio frame structure and a preamble structure in a radio sub-frame. The wireless communication system comprises a sender and a receiver. The sender sends a preamble to the receiver through an uplink synchronization channel. The preamble is sent on 6 frequency-domain resource blocks in one or more sub-frames of a radio frame where the uplink synchronization channel resides. The preamble comprises, in time sequence, a cyclic prefix and a sequence. The duration of the sequence is 4096 Ts or 2048 Ts. Different durations of the sequence may correspond to different durations of the cyclic prefix. By applying the present invention, coverage requirements of a wireless local area network can be satisfied, radio resources can be fully utilized, the number of reuse users can be increased, the collision probability of uplink random access can be decreased, and the throughput of the system can be increased.
