<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seed package obtained by wrapping a seed with a long polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)-based polymer film, and allowing exhibition of a good germination rate even in the case of a seed with weak germinability, and to provide the long PVA-based polymer film used in the seed package. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the seed package obtained by wrapping the seed with the long PVA-based polymer film. In the seed package, the PVA-based polymer film has a dissolution time of 5-30 s when immersed in water at 5°C, and a rate of shrinkage of ≤15% in the longitudinal direction when floated on the water surface at 20°C. Furthermore, there is provided the long PVA-based polymer film for wrapping the seed to afford the seed package.
