PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server device that is capable of reducing careless disappearance of original content at a time of a MOVE operation of the content.

SOLUTION: The server device according to the present invention transmits content data to a client terminal. The server device according to the present invention comprises reception means that receives transfer request for the content data from the client terminal; and determination means that determines whether the content data is to be transferred or not to the client terminal based on a copiable number and protection information associated with the content data for which the reception means has received the transfer request.
