<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus employing an electrophotographic system that accurately draws an edge part while reducing the edge effect. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus employing an electrophotographic system includes a print engine 11 that specifies a distribution pattern of an electrostatic latent image based on an exposure signal before correction, specifies the degree of change of an electric field of a pixel of interest based on the distribution pattern of an electrostatic latent image, corrects the exposure signal based on the degree of change of the electric field, and supplies an exposure signal after correction to an exposure device 2.
