A plant for upgrading digestates comprises: an inlet for digestates (2), a separator (10), connected to the inlet for digestates, and arranged so as to separate the digestates at respectively an outlet for substantially liquid residues and an outlet for substantially solid residues, and an upgrading unit (18), comprising an inlet connected to the outlet for substantially solid residues of the separator (10), and arranged so as to produce phosphoric acid and gypsum at respective outlets.
