<p>A lighting unit that utilizes a simple configuration that allows an LED substrate to be held more firmly by an adhesive member is provided. The lighting unit (4) is equipped with a platy light guide plate (12), a box-shaped chassis (14) that opens up at the top and houses the light guide plate (12) therein, an architrave-shaped frame (5) that extends along the peripheral edge part of the light guide plate (12) and is mounted over the chassis (14), a horizontally long rectangular LED substrate (20) that is mounted with LEDs (21) for emitting light to an end surface of the light guide plate, and an adhering member (15) for attaching the LED substrate (20) to a side plate (14b) that is provided upright on the bottom plate (14a) of the chassis (14); wherein the bottom surface (5d) of the frame (5) is provided with a retaining part (6) that is brought into contact with the top edge of the LED substrate (20), which is attached to the side plate (14b) by the adhering member (15), so as to press the LED substrate (20) toward the bottom plate (14a) and the side plate (14b) of the chassis (14).</p> |
