The invention relates to a process for producing a preform (P) of fibrous structure having the form of a profiled element comprising a core (A) delimited by at least one contour line. According to the invention, this process consists in producing two elementary preforms of forms suitable for forming a preform (P) provided with a core (A) of double thickness obtained by juxtaposition of the two elementary preforms, then in assembling the two elementary preforms by at least one line of stitching (11-13) extending along each contour line delimiting the core (A).
