<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve endurance reliability by exterding the lifetime of a seal device for a power transmission device using the constant-velocity universal joint. <P>SOLUTION: The constant-velocity universal joint includes an inner race 10 with ball races 14 formed on an outer circumferential surface 12, an outer race 20 with ball races 24 formed on an inner circumferential surface 22, balls 30 interposed between a pair of the ball races 14 of the inner race 10 and the ball races 24 of the outer race 20, a cage 40 interposed between the inner race 10 and the outer race 20 to hold the balls 30 on the same plane, and a seal device 50 that seals an opening between the outer race 20 and the inner race 10. A cover 66 is also provided which is formed by shrinking a heat shrinkable tube along the contour of the outer race 20. A cover 68 using a heat shrinkable cover can also be provided on the outer circumference of a pipe 18c connected to the inner race 10 as well. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
