<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bow valve capable of minimizing the wave-making resistance of a hull under two different navigating conditions of the bow valve according to the change in the wave-making characteristic under the conditions in a displacement type ship. <P>SOLUTION: The bow valve is formed of one fixed outer plate surface, movable outer plate surfaces 2R and 2L, and joining surfaces 3R and 3L. The positions of the movable outer plate surfaces 2R and 2L are changed, and the joining surfaces are changed to joining surfaces 4R and 4L to keep smoothness of curved surfaces without any step.
