<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately inform of a failure of a capacitor used for smoothing a supply voltage. <P>SOLUTION: A failure detection device for a power circuit detects a failure of a capacitor C connected to a power supply path disposed on an output side of a switching regulator 13. Output power of the switching regulator 13 is stopped in accordance with a stop signal SP supplied from a microcomputer 15 for a prescribed stop period tsp set on the basis of power consumption of the microcomputer. During this stop period, if a voltage level of the power supply path is less than an operation voltage Vcc of the microcomputer 15, a failure informing part 17 informs that a failure has occurred in the capacitor C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
