PURPOSE: A brush head assembly for an electric toothbrush is provided to improve the brushing effect of the assembly by moving the vertical direction of a brush head based on power from the main body of an electric toothbrush. CONSTITUTION: A brush head assembly for an electric toothbrush includes a brush head(200), a head shaft(220), a shaft guide(300), an operating member(400), and a connecting member. Bristle is implanted at the brush head. The head shaft is expanded from the brush head and includes a protrusion type combining part(230) and a guiding protrusion(240). The head shaft is inserted into the shaft guide and includes a first combining groove(310) and a second combining groove. The protrusion type combining part is engaged with the first combining groove. The operating member is embedded in the shaft guide and includes a spiral operation inducing groove(420) and an elastic cutting groove(450). The guiding protrusion is inserted into the operation inducing groove. A driving shaft is detachably assembled with the elastic cutting groove. The connecting member detachably fixes the shaft guide to a main body.
