PURPOSE: A memory protection apparatus and a method thereof in a multiprocessor system are provided to control memory access by small hardware and to reduce the loss of costs by hardware. CONSTITUTION: A sub-segment register(210) includes a plurality of sub segment addresses. A segment register(220) includes a segment base address. A memory protecting unit(230) determines whether to allow memory access based on the sub segment register in case of memory access to a memory. The memory protecting unit transmits an exception signal for showing inaccessible to the memory in case the memory access is not allowed.
