Method and apparatus for the recognition of a false object detection in an image

A method for recognizing erroneous detection of an object in an image involves capturing an object in one of a plurality of images and analyzing the plurality of images in order to determine a property of the captured object. In said method, for each of the plurality of images, it is determined whether the respective image shows the captured object. Furthermore, the method includes recognizing whether the captured object has been erroneously detected, the recognition being based on the determined property of the captured object and at least on a characteristic behaviour by the object capturer (object detector) in relation to erroneous detections or on a statistical property of an image-generating detector.
