PURPOSE: A water treating method for adjusting filtering conditions according to the quantity of the state of water to be treated and a filtering apparatus for the same are provided to stably satisfy the standard of quality for discharging water by controlling filtering processes. CONSTITUTION: Either the quantity of the state of water through a main treating unit(1) or the quantity of the state of water through a filtering unit(40) is detected. The filtering condition of a filtering unit is set according to the detected quantity of the state. A filtering process is implemented according to the set filtering condition. A filtering apparatus includes a sensor, a filtering unit, and a controller. The sensor detects the quality of the state of feed water. The filtering unit implements the filtering process. The filtered water is discharged to the external side of the filtering apparatus. The controller sets the filtering condition of the filtering unit and controls the operation of the filtering unit.
