PURPOSE: A system and method for automatically controlling apparatuses in a Personal environment service using local wireless communication are provided to promote user convenience by improving a system structure for the personal environment service. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal(200) stores a personal profile. The portable terminal automatically recognizes a remote home appliance(201). The portable terminal automatically transmits control information to the home appliance. A local communication repeater(203) relays the communication of the home appliance with the portable terminal which locates in a remote site. The home appliance stores an apparatus profile. The home appliance includes a communication module of the same method as the local communication repeater.
