PURPOSE: A virtual group managing device for providing an electronic program guide for preferred broadcast channels to a user is provided to extract a preferred broadcast channel from various broadcast channels and supply the extracted broadcast channel to a user. CONSTITUTION: A user authenticating unit(301) authenticates a user by stored identification information. A keyword generating unit(302) generates a virtual keyword using information about a watching habit of the user and a group that the user joins. The generated virtual keyword displays a preferred broadcast channel. A group generating unit(303) generates users with a common virtual keyword in a virtual group. A guide generating unit(304) generates a guide for selecting a broadcast channel to which the virtual group prefers.
