<p>A system for treating trees to inhibit boring and/or sucking insects comprises injection apparatus and a plurality of capsules, the apparatus being operable to inject a capsule into the trunk of a tree, the capsule then releasing pesticide into the trunk. The apparatus may include a hydraulic ram, which may be a double acting ram, which presses the capsule into the trunk. The apparatus may further include a pump. The apparatus may include a tree clamping assembly 12 which comprises a pair of arms 40 pivotally mounted onto a support stand and a connection arrangement 52 that interconnects the arm, the connection arrangement being operable to draw the arms together to clamp the tree between them. The apparatus and system may be used with date trees.</p> |
