<p>There is disclosed a tobacco smoke filter or filter element comprising: a wrapper engaged around a longitudinally extending core of tobacco smoke filtering material, wherein a first end of the wrapper is substantially flush with a first end of the core around which it is engaged, and a second end of the wrapper extends beyond a second end of the core around which is engaged to define a cavity at the second end of the filter or filter element; and an adhesive disposed between the wrapper and the core, wherein the adhesive is not disposed on the portion of the wrapper which extends beyond the second end of the core around which it is engaged to define the cavity.</p> |
