Device for transmitting light signals and corresponding method

The device (1) has a fixed printed circuit board (2) comprising a set of light sources (4) e.g. LEDs, for delivering light signals, and a rotatable printed circuit board (3) comprising a photoreceiver (6) i.e. photodiode, for receiving the light signals. A signal delivering unit delivering the light signals effects turning on or off of a portion of the light sources on the basis of the received light signal. The light signals reproduce a position of the printed circuit board (2) adopted as a result of the relative movement with respect to the printed circuit board (3). An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring light signals between two elements of a machine.
