PURPOSE: A method for estimating a position bordered to a furnace wall of a softening zone is provided to monitor the working condition in a furnace and predict an error in work, thereby controlling the distribution of charged materials and stabilizing gases. CONSTITUTION: A method for estimating a position bordered to a furnace wall of a softening zone comprises the steps of: extracting furnace pressure data along the height and radius of a furnace(S1), converting the furnace pressure data into the corresponding standard deviation value(S2), and quantifying the furnace pressure by the standard deviation value equal to or greater than a reference value into 1 and the standard deviation value less than the reference value into 0(S3).
