PURPOSE: A heating furnace and a control method thereof are provided to minimize fuel consumption and to prevent energy loss by adjusting the height of an extraction door according to the height of an extractor while extracting materials. CONSTITUTION: A heating furnace comprises a body(10), an extraction door(20), an extraction door driving unit(30), an air curtain unit(100), and a control unit. The body has an extraction hole(11) for extracting materials(S). The extraction door opens and closes the extraction hole. The extraction door driving unit vertically moves the extraction door. The air curtain unit is installed in the extraction door and sprays fluid to block the flow of the air passing through the extraction hole. The control unit controls the operation of the extraction door driving unit and the air curtain unit.
