PURPOSE: A quenching device of a roll is provided to improve work efficiency by reducing the time for quenching a roll. CONSTITUTION: A quenching device of a roll comprises a plurality of rotary rolls(113) and projections(121). The rotary rolls are arranged with a horizontal gap and rotated by an external driving force to rotate a roll under heat treatment. The rotary rolls contact other parts of the roll except for a shaft part. The projections are formed on the surface of the rotary rolls.
