PURPOSE: A small electronic component counting device and a method thereof are provided to easily count small electronic components by detecting light scattered by components when the components are passing through a transparent path. CONSTITUTION: A supply chamber(10) supplies small electronic components. A light transmission tube(20) is connected to a lower part of the supply chamber and forms a path for the small electronic components. A laser emitting instrument(30) emits a laser beam. An optical instrument(40) delivers the laser beam to the light transmission tube. A light detecting instrument(50) detects light scattered by the components passing through the light transmission tube.
