PURPOSE: A hydraulic mechanical transmission is provided to increase the efficiency of the device by minimizing heat generation according to the driving of a clutch and power transmitting performance by driving a clutch through small input torque. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic mechanical transmission comprises a primary input shaft(111), a hydraulic static transmission unit(HST)(112), a secondary input shaft(115), a speed reduction unit(116), an output shaft(117), and a clutch(301). The primary input shaft is connected to the output part of an engine. The hydraulic static transmission unit is connected to the primary input shaft and controls the strength of driving force output by controlling inner hydraulic force. The secondary input shaft is connected to the output part of the hydraulic static transmission unit. The speed reduction unit is composed of a plurality of gears and transfers driving force to the output shaft. The clutch is comprised in the primary input shaft and applies or cuts the driving force of the primary input shaft to the speed reduction unit selectively. The clutch is installed between the output part of an engine and the speed reduction unit.
