PURPOSE: A method for operating a micro hydro power generation system is provided to sense over pressure of a water supply pipe, and to generate electricity by installing the micro hydro power generation system in a correspondent water pipe. CONSTITUTION: A method for operating a micro hydro power generation system(10) is as follows. Flow velocities of water supply pipes are measured using flow velocity detecting sensors(31,32). The water supply pipe having a flow velocity faster than a standard is detected and the micro hydro power generation system is installed in the water supply pipe. The electricity generated from the micro hydro power generation system is accumulated in a battery.
