PURPOSE: An asphalt compactor is provided to accurately calculate the hitting power of a hammer which is freely falling from an exact height and compact an asphalt mixture with accurate compacting pressure for obtaining an asphalt specimen. CONSTITUTION: An asphalt compactor comprises a main body(2), a hitting member(3), a driving member(4), and a hammer lifting member(5). The main body comprises a worktable(21), a vertical frame(22), an upper bracket(23), a lower bracket(24), and two or more tie bars(25). The hitting member comprises a pressing member(31), a guide shaft(32), and a hammer(35). A plurality of locking holes(34) are formed in the hammer. The driving member comprises a first sprocket(41), a second sprocket(42), a first chain(43), and a motor(44). The asphalt compactor hardens an asphalt mixture filled in an open-top cylindrical container by hitting the upper part of the container a predetermined number of times with the hammer. |
