<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst which comprises an alloy of a non-noble metal that can show an excellent exhaust gas purification performance comparable with that of a noble metal. <P>SOLUTION: The porous powder shape exhaust gas purifying catalyst 1 comprises an alloy including at least two elements of Cu, Fe, Co, and Ni. While CO gas 30, 31 is made pass through the exhaust gas purifying catalyst 1 and a noble metal catalyst comprising a Pt powder or Pd powder, the exhaust gas purifying catalyst 1 and the noble metal catalyst are each temperature-raised from the temperature of 25°C to the temperature of 800°C, then temperature-lowered from the temperature of 800°C to the temperature of 25°C. The amounts of CO gas having passed through the exhaust gas purifying catalyst 1 and the noble metal catalyst are each monitored. The rate of change of the CO gas amount of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst 1 to that of the noble metal catalyst is within 10% in the all temperature raising and lowering processes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
