<p>A device for positioning an optical fibre comprises: a base which can support an optical fibre; a clamper for gripping the optical fibre together with the base; a first elastic member for bearing a first load region; a second elastic member for bearing a second load region which is different from the first load region; and a control device for controlling the range of deformation of the second elastic member. The device further comprises a compression apparatus which is linked to the clamper in order to compress the clamper by means of the second elastic member within the deformation range, and to compress the clamper by means of the first elastic member when the deformation range is exceeded.</p>
