<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which allows for stable tracking control without causing offsets in tracking error signals due to stray light from layers other than a predetermined recording and reproducing layer of an optical disk having a plurality of recording and reproducing layers, and an optical information processor. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pickup comprises a light focusing part which focuses emission light from a light source on an optical recording medium, a hologram diffraction element 41 which separates reflection light from the optical recording medium at least into non-diffraction light and first to sixth primary diffraction light, and a photodetector 50 which receives the non-diffraction light and the first to sixth primary diffraction light. Regions 51k and 51m of the photodetector 50 are located at positions shifted from regions 51a to 51d in the X-axis direction, facing each other across the X-axis.
