PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record trail information on various operations by an operator as a log.

SOLUTION: A log management system stores operation contents representing an operation performed on a predetermined computer system, a log item to be acquired as a log item to be acquired when the operation is performed, log output presence or absence indicative of whether the computer system outputs the log item to be acquired when the operation is performed, and log acquisition means as means of acquiring the log item to be acquired. Then the log management system when accepting predetermined operation contents to the computer system determines whether the computer system outputs the log item to be acquired corresponding to the predetermined operation contents according to the log output presence or absence. The log management system acquires the log item to be acquired by the log acquisition means corresponding to the predetermined operation contents when the computer system does not output the log item to be acquired.
