<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic information distributing system allowing even a vehicle having no sensor unit capable of communicating with an on-road machine to obtain effective traffic information in optimal timing. <P>SOLUTION: A traffic information distributing system comprises: an information center 3 for obtaining traffic information by using a distribution system (for example, a VICS) including an on-road machine, in addition to probe information; an on-vehicle device 2 including a position detecting unit 6 for detecting a position of one's own vehicle, for transmitting a traffic information request command to the information center 3 at timing when one's own vehicle passes a point at which the on-road machine of the VICS is installed. Further, when obtaining the traffic information request command at the timing from the on-vehicle device 2, the information center 3 transmits traffic information around the point at which the on-road machine of the VICS is installed by using the VICS to the on-vehicle device 2 through a wireless network 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
