<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal rolling method for preventing bending to left and right of T-shaped steel. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing T-shaped steel has an intermediate rolling process for rolling down a web and a flange by a universal rolling mill with respect to a T-shaped steel piece roughly formed into a near T-shape as well as rolling down an end surface of the flange by an edger mill. Difference r<SB POS="POST">f</SB>-r<SB POS="POST">w</SB>between flange draft r<SB POS="POST">f</SB>and web draft r<SB POS="POST">w</SB>in each rolling pass by the universal rolling mill is set to be a draft difference. The draft difference in each rolling pass of the universal rolling mill in the intermediate rolling process is 0-10%. When the intermediate rolling process is divided into a rolling initial stage, a rolling middle stage, and a rolling later stage, average draft difference of a rolling pass in each stage satisfies the following formula (1). Preferably, the average draft difference of the rolling initial stage is set to be 7%±3%, and the average draft difference of the rolling later stage is set to be 2%±2%.
