The optical system for a camera includes a first lens having a negative refractive index and a convex meniscus shape with respect to an object; a second lens having a negative refractive index; a third lens having a positive refractive index and an object-side convex surface with respect to the object; and a fourth lens having a positive refractive index and an image-side convex surface with respect to an image surface, wherein the following Conditional Expression is satisfied: 0.5<v1/v2<1.2 [Conditional Expression 1] here, v1: an Abbe value of the first lens, and v2: an Abbe value of the second lens.
