The invention relates to a method for manufacturing an anode (7'), comprising the steps of: arranging at least one removable insert (24) inside a mold (31); filling the mold (31) with an anode paste (30) made of a carbon material; compacting the anode paste (30) in the mold (31); removing the thus-compacted anode paste from the mold in order to obtain a green anode (7') made of a carbon material and provided with the insert(s) (24), each insert (24) forming and defining a groove (23).
