System for machining notches in a head-restraint tube comprising: -A matrix (4) for securing a tube (1) on which the notches are to be made; -A first press (6) for exerting pressure on; -A wedge (7) that transmits the pressure on the matrix (4) for securing the tube (1); -A roller-guide holder (5) in which there is a series of roller guides (8) and (9), which rotate freely within said roller-guide-holder component (5); -A second press (10) responsible for an up/down movement of the roller-guide holder component (5). By virtue of the system, notches can be made in the tube without weakening the tube, without causing fissures, and without the need to carry out subsequent polishing, thereby promoting the later coating process.
