<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of efficiently suppressing an accumulation of blackening. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 comprises: a light source lamp 41; an optical modulation device 42 for modulating light emitted from the light source lamp 41; a projection optical device 43 for projecting an image; a cooler 6 for delivering cooling fluid so as to cool the light source lamp 41; a lighting controller 74 for supplying lamp power of either a first power value or a second power value higher than the first power value so as to light the light source lamp 41; and a cooling controller 76 for controlling the cooler 6. The cooling controller 76 controls the cooler 6 such that the cooling fluid having a flow rate smaller than a set flow rate according to the second power value is delivered to the light source lamp 41 for a predetermined time period after the lamp power has been switched over from the first power value to the second power value, and further controls the cooler 6 such that the cooling fluid having a flow rate corresponding to the set flow rate is delivered to the light source lamp 41 after the predetermined time period has elapsed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
