<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which permits device data to be managed more simply and inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a storage unit, a data transmission section, a device data acquisition section, and an imaging means. The storage unit stores intrinsic device data for every device. The data transmission section converts the device data to data conforming to the DICOM standards and transmits it to a prescribed destination of transmission through a network. The device data acquisition section requests the destination of transmission to transmit the device data converted to the data conforming to the DICOM standards, acquires the device data conforming to the DICOM standards transmitted from the destination of transmission and writes it in the storage unit in a storable data structure.
